We’re pleased to announce a new eCommerce project: iconic American furniture brand Herman Miller is opening its online store in Hong Kong with Trilogi (TLG Commerce), using LogiCommerce, the advanced SaaS solution used by more than 300 companies.
Herman Miller is a company with over 110 years of history and one of the largest office furniture manufacturers in the US, with revenue of 2.1 billion dollars.
The adventure began in a small Michigan town, and the business grew until its products reached almost every corner of the globe. But the company needed to extend its eCommerce presence in Southeast Asia to better support the online stores already launched in Japan and China. For this, Herman Miller was looking for a partner with global capabilities to manage a high-end eCommerce build that would ensure a secure, agile and fast response.
The same, but with a different eCommerce build
To deliver the established experience across all channels, the first task was to recreate the design and behavior of the online store operating in America. To improve the design, TLG Commerce added features to make the Hong Kong store responsive, unlike the US platform, which doesn’t yet have this system for viewing the store optimally on any device.
TLG Commerce also integrated Asia Pay as the payment platform, the leading online payment solution that lets merchants accept not only Visa and Mastercard but also Paypay, UnionPay and Alipay. Thanks to the Asia Pay integration, Herman Miller can accept transactions from any payment gateway in the region.
The art of comfort
For over 100 years Herman Miller has made a name for itself in office furniture thanks to its innovative, modern design and exceptional comfort. Those were exactly the feelings the online store design needed to convey, a goal that, according to the platform’s managers, TLG Commerce achieved with excellence.
The product page was carefully crafted, with two buttons under the product image for front and back views of the same item. On each page Herman Miller tells the story of the product, describing how the piece was created, how critics received it and the media coverage it has earned.
Each product also has multiple options, offering a level of customization that lets customers create products to their taste by choosing most of the details. This system is a more advanced version of the one built for MUNICH, as it includes dozens of products with hundreds of different options.
And this is only the beginning
With the new website in Hong Kong, Herman Miller gains a presence in untapped markets. And as eCommerce keeps evolving, the successful office furniture brand can rely on an experienced partner like TLG Commerce to keep improving its online offering.
