Marketing

Remarketing with strategy, not persistence

Most visitors don’t buy or request a quote on their first visit. Retargeting exists to win them back, but done badly it becomes the ad that follows you for weeks for a product you already bought. A good retargeting strategy decides who to re-engage, with what message based on what they did, on which channel and for how long. At TRILOGI we design it across channels, coordinating Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and email, with first-party data audiences, dynamic creatives and frequency caps that protect your brand and your budget.

The challenge

Common retargeting problems

  • Symptom 1

    One audience for everyone

Someone who viewed the homepage and someone who abandoned their cart get the same ad, and budget is poorly allocated.

  • Symptom 2

    Overexposure and backlash

Uncontrolled frequency that wears users out and damages how your brand is perceived.

  • Symptom 3

Ads to people who already bought

Without properly configured exclusions, you pay to reach customers who have already converted.

  • Symptom 4

    Uncoordinated channels

Each platform runs its own retargeting and claims the same sale several times.

Reminding isn’t chasing: it’s showing up at the right moment.

What we do

What we do in your retargeting strategy

We build a re-engagement system organized by intent, channel and timing.

01

Audience map by intent

We segment visitors by behavior: category viewed, product, cart, form started or existing customer. Each segment gets its own message and time window.

02

Retargeting on Google

We run remarketing on Search, Display, YouTube and Performance Max with dynamic product ads. As a Google Premier Partner, we take care of feed and audience setup.

03

Retargeting on Meta and TikTok

We create dynamic catalog campaigns and message sequences on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. Ideal for visual products and emotional purchase decisions.

04

B2B retargeting on LinkedIn

We re-engage visitors and contacts by company, job title or content engagement. We support long sales cycles with value-driven messages.

05

Email and owned channels

We coordinate paid retargeting with abandoned-cart and browse emails. We use the owned channel first, since it’s cheaper.

06

Dynamic creatives

We design templates that show the product viewed, price, stock or a relevant benefit. With AI, we generate variants to test messages.

Frequently asked questions

What we’re often asked.

What is a retargeting strategy?

It is the plan that defines how to re-engage, through ads or messages, people who have already interacted with your brand: visited the website, viewed a product, abandoned their cart or opened an email. It covers which audiences to build, what message each one receives, on which channels, how often and for how long.

What is the difference between retargeting and remarketing?

In practice, the terms are used almost interchangeably. Traditionally, retargeting refers to paid ads aimed at previous visitors, and remarketing to re-engaging customers, often by email. We work on both together, because coordinating paid and owned channels is what makes the strategy profitable.

How many times should a user see my retargeting ad?

There’s no universal number: it depends on the purchase cycle, ticket size and channel. What matters is setting frequency caps and time windows per segment, and watching for signs of fatigue such as a falling CTR. An abandoned cart justifies more short-term intensity than a homepage visit.

How do cookies and privacy affect retargeting?

Cookie restrictions and consent reduce the size of pixel-based audiences. That’s why we give weight to first-party data: customer lists, server events and channels like email. We check that your consent management is correct and that data is sent to the platforms reliably.

Does retargeting work in B2B?

Yes, and it’s often especially useful because decision cycles are long and several people are involved. On LinkedIn we can re-engage by company or job title with valuable content, use cases or event invitations, and combine it with Google and email to guide each contact all the way to the sales meeting.
