Following the successful launch of the new social sharing tool SocialPay by TLG Commerce, the media are taking an interest in the company’s track record and the new projects it is developing.
TLG Commerce in La Vanguardia
Today, Monday 26 June, the print edition of La Vanguardia covers the new social shopping virality project in an article by journalist Mar Galtés.
Màrius Rossell explains what SocialPay is and how he came up with an idea he himself describes as “very simple” but that no one has developed yet. “They’re sure to copy us,” he predicts, “but right now we’re the first.” Read the article.
TLG Commerce on Catalunya Ràdio
TLG Commerce was also on the radio. Màrius Rossell and Llorenç Palomas, TLG’s CEO and sales director respectively, were the guests on Catalunya Ràdio’s digital trends show POPAP, which this time focused on eCommerce.
The show’s director and host, Mariola Dinarès, shared some eCommerce figures to give listeners some context:
- A third of the population in Spain shops online.
- It’s estimated that in 2016 each person spent €1,400 on eCommerce purchases.
- 40% of the population shops online regularly, specifically every month.
- Spain ranks fourth in the European Union for online sales, behind only the United Kingdom, Germany and France.
With the sector in context, the guests discussed the technological leaps in Asia, where consumers have gone straight to mobile for online shopping. Màrius Rossell knows this market well, having lived in Asia since 2012, first in Beijing and now in Shanghai. The figures are clear: in Asia mobile accounts for 75% of purchases, while in Spain it already reaches 60%.
Màrius Cirera, eCommerce manager at MUNICH, joined the conversation. He said MUNICH’s online store, one of the earliest, launched in 2005, is another sales channel for the sneaker brand. He noted that this channel accounts for around 10% of total revenue.
What should an eCommerce store have?
The host asked about the fundamentals an online store must meet. Màrius Rossell stressed first that “managers have to believe in the project, not just be there because it’s the thing to do.” Second, “connect online and offline sales channels.” And finally, “run a good marketing campaign to build loyalty among customers who end up buying.”
The interview moved on to the details of SocialPay: TLG Commerce’s new social sharing tool focused on social media, which increasingly influences consumers’ purchasing decisions. Llorenç Palomas and Màrius Rossell explained how social networks and online stores will connect so that recommendations that drive traffic or generate sales can be rewarded directly and in proportion to the profits (or traffic) generated.
Llorenç Palomas confirmed that 50% of traffic still comes from search engines and that marketplaces such as Privalia and Amazon are gaining ground fast. He also highlighted the importance of the automated process management enabled by Big Data.
To close, it was noted that TLG Commerce is an agency specializing in eCommerce whose client service includes hosting, eCommerce management software updates and digital marketing.
