neovideo real-world case study: migration to PrestaShop 9, Trilogi Agency

A distributor who finishes work in the early morning needs to know if a product is available and be able to order it from their cell phone. For Neovideo Digital, an importer and distributor of professional audiovisual technology, this scenario is part of everyday life. Its B2B online store must display reliable information and allow customers to make purchases without having to rely on a phone call or text message.

That is the context of their migration from PrestaShop 1.7.8 to PrestaShop 9 with Trilogi. Albert Renú, CEO of Neovideo Digital, explained the project during the webinar “Make the Leap to PrestaShop 9, ” held on September 23, 2026: the store’s evolution must maintain its connection to SAP Business One, on which the catalog, prices, customers, inventory, and orders depend.

Neovideo has modernized its B2B e-commerce platform so that its distributors can find products, check availability, and place orders more quickly. During the webinar, Albert praised Trilogi's methodology and support.

The challenge: fast B2B purchasing, even outside business hours

Neovideo's distributors typically make purchases to meet the specific needs of their own customers. According to Albert, two factors are particularly important in this business: availability and price. They need to find the right product, check inventory, and complete the order in just a few steps.

They can’t always do this from a computer or during office hours. Some browse and make purchases on their phones at 1:00 a.m., after a shoot, or while preparing for the next day’s work. Neovideo wants the website to allow them to handle these tasks independently and efficiently. It also aims to update the design and improve product information.

Their PrestaShop B2B store has another unique feature: when an end consumer wants to make a purchase, Neovideo receives their inquiry via a form and directs them to the most appropriate distributor. As a result, the shopping experience for professionals and the way end consumers are served serve different purposes within the same site.

Why Neovideo Decided to Upgrade from PrestaShop 1.7.8 to 9

Albert explains that Trilogi had already worked with Neovideo on a previous update. Over time, version 1.7.8 and the store’s layout itself began to require an update. The company wanted to keep its platform up to date, improve product information, and make the shopping experience more streamlined for customers who are often short on time.

The schedule also made business sense. Neovideo began work in August, a more suitable time to tackle the project before the increase in activity that, according to Albert, begins in September in his industry. Planning the migration with that workload in mind is just as much a part of the project as deciding which technology to upgrade.

SAP Business One and PrestaShop 9: The One Thing That Can't Go Wrong

At Neovideo, the website doesn't operate in isolation. Albert describes an integration in which products, prices, customer data, and inventory are transferred from SAP Business One to PrestaShop, while orders placed in the store are sent back to SAP. When a distributor logs in with their account, they can view their discounts and place orders. It's especially important that inventory levels reflect actual stock: a single purchase can sell out the last remaining units of a product.

The client explained that they had already tried various approaches to connect the two systems. In the current setup, they work directly with their SAP partner, who defines the fields that are transferred between the ERP and PrestaShop. Albert highlighted how quickly the system updates inventory when an order is entered. This is a capability of their existing operations that must be taken into account during the migration; it is not a feature specific to the new version.

That’s why the key question for this project goes beyond whether the new store looks good: Will each distributor continue to receive accurate data, prices, and availability information, and will orders be sent to the ERP system as the team expects? Reviewing the connector and testing these workflows are part of the migration we’ve carried out at Trilogi.

PrestaShop 9 Reviews: Working on the Migration with Trilogi

During the webinar, Albert pointed out two factors that give him peace of mind. The first is his previous experience working with Trilogi; the second is being able to track the project’s progress even when his day is filled with client visits, meetings with manufacturers, and dealing with international time zones. He describes a method that allows him to check the steps, the status of tasks, and any outstanding questions.

He summed up that follow-up process as “a simple, yet very well-designed and highly efficient system.” And, when discussing the team’s responses to his questions, he added, “You can really tell they’re experienced.”

He also mentioned the store analysis and the recommendations received from Trilogi. For Neovideo, this preliminary work makes it possible to decide what needs to be updated without losing sight of the practical goal: to enable distributors to easily browse products and make purchases while the team focuses on importing, training, and serving their customers.
