You can check your current PR at this link: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.checkpagerank.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.checkpagerank.net\/<\/a> or by installing a plugin in your browser.<\/p>\n<p>You can also install a <a href=\"https:\/\/chrome.google.com\/webstore\/detail\/pagerank-status\/hbdkkfheckcdppiaiabobmennhijkknn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">plugin for the Chrome browser <\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/addons.mozilla.org\/en-us\/firefox\/addon\/pagerank\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Firefox<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is PageRank?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In short, it\u2019s a Google algorithm that numerically measures a website\u2019s importance and relevance. Initially it only measured the number of links pointing to our website or online store; later it also measured their quality, giving that more weight than the number of links; and recently it has added other factors, such as originality, the creation of original content and how widely it\u2019s shared.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An example:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The blog you\u2019re reading (<a href=\"\/blog\/\">www.trilogi.com\/blog<\/a>) was created recently. A week ago it had no PageRank, and with the update it has been assigned a PageRank of 3.<\/p>\n<p>The domain itself has a PageRank of 5. PageRank usually flows through a website hierarchically:<\/p>\n<p>www.domain.com (PR 10)<\/p>\n<p>www.domain.com\/category1\/ (PR8)<\/p>\n<p>www.domain.com\/category1\/product5 \/ (PR5)<\/p>\n<p>(it\u2019s not always like this, but it follows this logic)<\/p>\n<p>Until recently, it was hard for an internal page to have a higher PR than the domain root.<\/p>\n<p>But Google\u2019s latest changes have rewritten the rules. Following the example above:<\/p>\n<p>This blog post has a PageRank of 3: <a href=\"\/blog\/post\/tendencias-comercio-electronico-2013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">6 key eCommerce trends for 2013<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This other one has a PageRank of 2: <a href=\"\/blog\/post\/acuerdo-trilogi-envialia-ecommerce\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New partnership agreement with Envialia<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Why the difference?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first was widely shared on social media, with around 70 shares, and the second only 5.<\/p>\n<p>On my own blog, after the update, I found that one post had one more PageRank point than the homepage.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/post\/que-es-e-author-rank-seo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">As we\u2019ve mentioned several times<\/a>, Google rewards content quality, and if the community values it, it will rank and be shown naturally.<\/p>\n<p>Have you noticed any changes with this latest update?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On February 4, Google updated the PageRank values.
